Information on Data Transfer to the USA
Our website integrates tools from companies based in the USA, among others. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the respective companies. We would like to point out that the USA is not a safe third country in the sense of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that US authorities (e.g., intelligence services) may process, evaluate, and permanently store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence over these processing activities.
Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent already given at any time. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6 PARA. 1 LIT. E OR F GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME, FOR REASONS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA, UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS, AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE, OR DEFENSE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ART. 21 PARA. 1 GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ART. 21 PARA. 2 GDPR).
Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority
In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to complain exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to yourself or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of data to another controller, this will only be done if it is technically feasible.
SSL or TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock symbol in your browser line.
When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Information, Deletion, and Correction
Within the framework of applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of data processing, and, if applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. For this and other questions regarding personal data, you can contact us at any time.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If the processing of your personal data occurred/occurs unlawfully, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
If we no longer need your personal data, but you require it for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

4. Data Collection on this Website
Cookies
Our website uses so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or an automatic deletion by your web browser occurs.
In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behavior or to display advertising.
Cookies that are necessary for carrying out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies) or for providing certain functions desired by you (functional cookies, e.g., for the shopping cart function) or for optimizing the website (e.g., cookies for measuring web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent for the storage of cookies has been requested, the storage of the relevant cookies takes place exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR); consent can be revoked at any time.
You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Insofar as cookies from third-party companies or for analysis purposes are used, we will inform you separately about this within the framework of this Privacy Policy and, if necessary, request your consent.
Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this purpose, server log files must be collected.
Contact Form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for follow-up questions. We will not share this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, provided that your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage ceases to apply (e.g., after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Inquiry by Email, Telephone, or Fax
If you contact us by email, telephone, or fax, your inquiry, including all personal data resulting therefrom (name, inquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request.
The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
Registration on this website
You can register on this website to use additional functions on the site. We will only use the data entered for this purpose for the purpose of using the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject the registration.
For important changes, such as changes to the scope of services or technically necessary changes, we will use the e-mail address provided during registration to inform you in this way.
The data entered during registration is processed for the purpose of implementing the user relationship established by the registration and, if applicable, for initiating further contracts (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR).
The data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on this website and will then be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
5. Analysis tools and advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of stay, operating systems used and the user's origin. This data may be summarised by Google in a profile that is assigned to the respective user or their end device.
Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the user to be recognised for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
This analysis tool is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. If corresponding consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
The data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.
Browser plugin
You can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Order processing
We have concluded a contract with Google for order processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Storage period
Data stored by Google at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user IDs (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) will be anonymised or deleted after 14 months. Details can be found under the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=de
6. eCommerce and payment providers
Processing of data (customer and contract data)
We collect, process and use personal data only to the extent that it is necessary for the establishment, content design or amendment of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data on the use of this website (usage data) only to the extent that this is necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill them.
The customer data collected will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Online presence in social media
Job Lounge GmbH maintains online presences within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with customers, interested parties, applicants and users active there and to inform them about our services. We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may result in risks for users, because, for example, the enforcement of users' rights could be made more difficult.
Furthermore, user data is generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, user profiles can be created based on user behaviour and the resulting interests of users. The user profiles can in turn be used to display advertisements within and outside the platforms that are likely to correspond to the interests of the users. For these purposes, cookies are generally stored on the user's computer, in which the user's usage behaviour and interests are stored. Furthermore, data can also be stored in the user profiles independently of the devices used by the users (in particular if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them).
The processing of users' personal data is based on our legitimate interests in effective information for users and communication with users in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. If users are asked by the respective providers for consent to data processing (i.e. declare their consent, e.g. by ticking a checkbox or confirming a button), the legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR.
For a detailed presentation of the respective processing operations and the opt-out options, please refer to the following linked information from the providers.
Also in the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we would like to point out that these can be asserted most effectively with the providers. Only the providers have access to the data of the users and can directly take appropriate measures and provide information. Should you still require assistance, you can contact us.

7. Own services
Handling applicant data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g. by e-mail, post or via online application form). In the following, we would like to inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. We assure you that your data will be collected, processed and used in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other legal provisions and that your data will be treated as strictly confidential.
Scope and purpose of data collection
If you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes from job interviews, etc.) to the extent that this is necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG-neu under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (general contract initiation) and – if you have given your consent – Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Your personal data will only be passed on within our company to persons who are involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data you submit will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of § 26 BDSG-neu and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR for the purpose of implementing the employment relationship.
Data retention period
If we are unable to offer you a job, you reject a job offer or withdraw your application, we reserve the right to store the data you have submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. The storage serves in particular for evidentiary purposes in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be required after the expiry of the 6-month period (e.g. due to a threatened or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for the further storage no longer applies.
A longer storage period may also take place if you have given your corresponding consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
Inclusion in the applicant pool
If we do not offer you a job, there may be the possibility of including you in our applicant pool. If you are included, all documents and information from the application will be transferred to the applicant pool in order to contact you in the event of suitable vacancies.
Inclusion in the applicant pool takes place exclusively on the basis of your express consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). The granting of consent is voluntary and is not related to the current application process. The data subject can revoke their consent at any time. In this case, the data from the applicant pool will be irrevocably deleted, provided that there are no legal reasons for retention.
The data from the applicant pool will be irrevocably deleted no later than two years after consent has been granted.
